Joshua Tree National Park will hold a public meeting on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 8 to 10 am at park headquarters in Twentynine Palms. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss alternatives for work associated with the proposed reconstruction of a 23.5-mile portion of Pinto Basin Road as part of a Federal Highways Administration program. Park Roads & Utilities Foreman Kirk Diamond and Vegetation Specialist Josh Hoines will be discuss the project and answer questions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up to receive copies of the Environmental Assessment that will discuss the proposed alternatives when it is released for public comment. It is anticipated that an additional public meeting will be scheduled following its release. |
