As the tallest monument in America marks its 55th birthday on Wednesday, October 28, the public is invited to submit their best personal photos of the Arch for inclusion in a 55th birthday commemorative collage that will become available digitally.Submissions may range from beauty shots of the monument, to snapshots from festivals and fairs held on the park grounds, to photos from family trips and field trips. Photos must include the Gateway Arch and cannot include graphic or offensive material. Participants can upload their pictures and review official terms and conditions at gatewayarch.com/submitphotos. The deadline to submit photos is November 30.
In celebration, the National Park Service will project vintage photos of the Arch’s construction on the large screens in the “Heading West” exhibit area in the Museum at the Gateway Arch. The park will also offer a special 55th birthday photo option for visitors, and The Arch Store will highlight merchandise that reflects the occasion.
Share what you love about the monument on social media with #Arch55. For more information about the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse, please visit www.gatewayarch.com or www.nps.gov/jeff.
