Ghosts of the Arch Grounds

Learn the various" incarnations" of the Arch Grounds as they evolved from French fur trading post to a warehouse district, to the present Gateway Arch National Park, as well as the ups and downs of historical figures like Pierre Leclede, James Eads, Thomas Targee, Percy Green and others. The program will be presented on the West Entrance Plaza at 6:30 pm and will be free and open to the public.

WEATHER PERMITTING, the "Ghosts" talk will be followed by free telescope viewing out on the West Entrance Plaza until 8:30pm, provided by volunteers from the St. Louis Astronomical Society. The planets Jupiter and Saturn will be highlighted.

"The Ghosts of the Arch Grounds" talk will be held unless there is rain at 6:30pm. Skies must be at least fairly clear in order for the telescope viewing to be held- call 314-655-1708 the afternoon of the 25th for an update on the weather, or for more information.
