National Park Week 2013: April 20 to April 28

Hot Springs, AR -Let's Move Outside, and have fun!Did you know that this year's National Park Week activities at Hot Springs National Park are all about enjoying the outdoors with walking, hiking, and playing?Take time to explore the lost art of strolling, revisit pedestrianism, and hike for health and to see the park's scenic wonders.There is even a hike for dogs and their owners, and a walk to disconnect for reconnecting to the natural world around us.

National Park Week kicks off with ParkPalooza on Saturday, April 20, and lasts until Sunday, April 28 with a Scenic Hike. Here are the activities during National Park Week.

Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - ParkPalooza on the Arlington Lawn

Sunday, April 21, 1 to 4 p.m. - Dog Hike, starts at the Lamar Bathhouse

Monday, April 22, 1 to 4 p.m. - Pedestrianism Revisited, starts at the Lamar Bathhouse

Tuesday, April 23, 1 to 3 p.m. - The Lost Art of Strolling, starts at the Lamar Bathhouse

Wednesday, April 24, 1 to 4 p.m. - Health Hiking, starts at the Lamar Bathhouse

Thursday, April 25, 1 to 3 p.m. - The Great American Health Spa, starts at the Lamar Bathhouse

Friday, April 26, 10 a.m. to 12 noon - The Lost Art of Strolling, starts at the Lamar Bathhouse

Friday, April 26, 2 to 5 p.m. - Pedestrianism Revisited, starts at the Lamar Bathhouse

Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 12 noon - Olly, Olly Oxen Free, on the Arlington Lawn

Saturday, April 27, 2 to 4 p.m. - Disconnecting to Reconnect, at the Gulpha Gorge Campground

Sunday, April 28, 1 to 4 p.m. - Scenic Hiking, starts at the Gulpha Gorge Campground

"Did you know that Hot Springs National Park is America's Health and Wellness Park," said Josie Fernandez, Park Superintendent."Children and adults can participate in fun and healthy activities throughout the week.We look forward to seeing you."

Park Rangers will provide instruction on how to hike safely within the national park.
