Little Piece of Earth: The Hidden History of Homesteading on the Great Plains

BEATRICE, Neb. – Come to Homestead National Historical Park’s Education Center on Sunday, July 21, at 2:00 p.m. for a special program by Sara Gregg, Ph.D., whose work focuses on environmental change, agricultural history, and land policy. Gregg will present a program on her current project, “Little Piece of Earth: The Hidden History of Homesteading on the Great Plains”, which examines the process of state formation in the US West from the first years in the contact zone through the several Homestead Acts and into the present. She is excited to present this project so we encourage those interested to join us for this wonderful program.
