Human Computers: Hidden Figures to show at at Homestead National Monument of America

Join us for the film festival, Innovation: Transportation During the Homestead Era, Saturdays and Sundays in February and early March of 2019, at 2:00 p.m., in the Homestead National Monument of America’s Education Center. This year’s festival features films that honor the first and last major transportation innovations during the Homestead Era, the development of the Transcontinental Railroad, and the Apollo program’s exploration of the space frontier.
  
The next film in the series will be Hidden Figures. This dramatization based on the non-fictional book by the same name, examines the life of Katherine Johnson a woman who served as a human computer for NASA performing critical mathematical work during the space missions.  This film will screen Saturday, February 16, and Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Education Center at Homestead National Monument of America.

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska and 45 miles south of Lincoln. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free of charge.
