Nebraska’s first Territorial Board of Agriculture president once said, “Nebraska, agriculturally, is a heaven-favored country, and must look principally to her agricultural developments for her future wealth, position and importance.” On Saturday, August 3, 7:00 p.m. to hear stories of Nebraska’s agricultural history from Jody Lamp, a Humanities Nebraska speaker and co-author of A History of Nebraska Agriculture: A Life Worth Living. Following Lamp’s program, the Centenary Handbell Choir will give a musical performance. This program is offered as part of Homestead’s summer campfire series. Copies of, A History of Nebraska Agriculture: A Life Worth Living, can be purchased in America’s National Parks Bookstore operated at Homestead National Monument of America.
In the event of inclement weather, programs will be moved indoors. We also invite you back each Saturday through August 10, 2019, for a weekly campfire program! Visit https://www.nps.gov/home to learn more about the individual programs.

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
