Guadalupe Mountains National Park to Temporarily Close Dog Canyon Beginning September 9th
GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK, TEXAS –
Guadalupe Mountains National Park will close the Dog Canyon area of the park beginning Monday, September 9, 2024, due to the failure of the water well at Dog Canyon. Since August the park has been faced with well pump issues. Water mitigation measures were put in place, but due to further complications, the well is no longer viable. The closure will be in place for the foreseeable future as the park works diligently to remedy the issue.
