NPS Mountain View Turnout is a popular wedding ceremony location in Grand Teton National Park, offering stunning views of the Teton Range. However, it is also a vegetation-sensitive area, and special care is required to protect its fragile environment. Wedding ceremonies at this location are permitted under two types of Special Use Permits, depending on group size and time of year:
Mountain View Turnout is located along Teton Park Road, which opens later in the season due to its proximity to the mountains. The area contains critical vegetation that is especially vulnerable in May, June and Oct, when wet soils increase the risk of damage from foot traffic. To help preserve this sensitive habitat, all visitors should stay on durable surfaces and designated trails. From November 1 to April 30, the site is not accessible by vehicles due to seasonal road closures. Applications may be considered for those accessing the site by snowshoeing, skiing, hiking, or biking (when the road is not snow-covered). Please note: it is an 8-mile one-way trip from the Taggart Lake Trailhead to Mountain View Turnout. Visit the Winter in Grand Teton page to learn more about seasonal access. Permit Availability:
