A recent resident of Jackson, Wyoming died in a single vehicle rollover Wednesday, July 16, in Grand Teton National Park. Bernardo Bravo, 45, formerly of the Phoenix, Arizona area, apparently drove off the Teton Park Road and rolled his 2002 Buick sedan down a steep embankment just a mile north of the park's Moose Entrance Station sometime in the early morning hours.

Teton Interagency Dispatch Center received a call from a passerby about 4:55 a.m. who reported seeing a single car tire in the road. A Grand Teton National Park maintenance worker on his way to report for an early morning shift also saw the tire at and then caught sight of Bravo's vehicle down the Teton Park Road embankment, laying upside down on its rooftop. The park employee called Teton Interagency Dispatch Center at 5:25 a.m., and park rangers and EMS personnel responded to the accident site within minutes. Rangers quickly determined that Bravo had been ejected from his vehicle and was deceased at the scene.

Rangers summoned the Teton County coroner, who will determine the cause and approximate time of death.

Circumstances surrounding this fatal vehicle accident are yet to be determined. Multiple reports of a thick fog lying across this area during the early morning hours were provided by passersby and park staff; the foggy conditions may have been a contributing factor.

An accident reconstruction was conducted by Teton County sheriffs mid-morning on Wednesday and the vehicle removed by noon.

Bravo had been staying at the Climber's Ranch in Grand Teton National Park.
