Today in Denver, Colorado, National Park Service Intermountain Regional Director John Wessels announced that Triangle X Partnership was selected to provide dude ranch services in Grand Teton National Park under concession contract GRTE004-12. The contract covers a term of 13 years. Under their existing concession contract doing business as Triangle X Ranch, L.L.P., the Turner family has provided continuous dude ranch services at Grand Teton National Park since 1950. The existing concession operation at Triangle X Ranch offers multi-day stays that include lodging, meals, horseback riding, and other ranch activities. Guided fishing and float trips on the Snake River are also available to ranch guests and the general public. "Under the management of the Turner family, Triangle X Ranch has been providing visitors to the Jackson Hole area with an authentic dude ranch experience for over 85 years," said Grand Teton National Park Superintendent Mary Gibson Scott. "We are pleased that this time-honored tradition will continue under a new contract and look forward to working with the Turners as they continue their unique family business." The NPS Intermountain Region Office solicited proposals for this business opportunity through a prospectus issued September 30, 2011. Bid proposals were accepted through December 16, 2011. Triangle X Partnership's proposal was selected under the provisions of the 1998 Concessions Management Improvement Act. The Act made a number of changes in how concession contracts are awarded with the intent of ensuring quality visitor services, protecting park resources, and enhancing the competitive contract process for NPS concession contracts.
