GATLINBURG, Tenn. — Great Smoky Mountains National Park will temporarily close Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail on Sept. 24 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to safely complete roadside mowing and other maintenance.

Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a narrow, single-lane road with steep roadsides in one of the busiest sections of the park.

The park will temporarily close the road at the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail entrance. Visitors can still drive the Cherokee Orchard Road loop and access the trailheads for Old Sugarlands Trail, Rainbow Falls Trail, Trillium Gap Trail and Twin Creeks Trail.

Check the park website for up-to-date information on road closures and construction.
