Saturday, September 9th - Campground Clean-Up in Smokemont

Join NPS rangers to help prepare beautiful Smokemont Campground for fall! We’ll clear fire pits, pick up litter, and remove debris. Bring boots if you’d like to hike along the lovely Smokemont Nature Trail afterward.

• Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Pre-registration Required)

Saturday, September 23rd - Tremont & Trails: Park & Partners Project

On National Public Lands Day, join park rangers and our partners of Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. We’ll spend a day outdoors enjoying public lands, helping with maintenance projects on Tremont Campus, and restoring the nearby Lumber Ridge Trail. Volunteers will learn about community science initiatives, educational outreach, and other unique offerings of Tremont Institute.

• Meeting Location: Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, TN
• Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Limited to 20 Participants, Ages 12+ (Pre-registration Required)

Saturday, October 28th - Safety Day in Daisy Town: Fire Risk Mitigation

Work alongside Great Smoky Mountains wildland firefighters! We’ll use rakes, tarps, and leaf-blowers to remove leaf litter (fire fuel) around the historic cabins of Elkmont’s ‘Daisy Town’.

• Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Pre-registration Required)

Friday-Sunday, November 3rd, 4th, and 5th - Water Works: Fontana Lake Clean-Up

Hop aboard a boat and work with our team to remove legacy trash from shorelines in this unique part of Great Smoky Mountains National Park! All tools and safety equipment provided. Lunch will be provided.

• Meeting Location: Fontana Marina, Fontana Dam, NC
• Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day (Pre-registration Required)

• Include number of participants and the age of each volunteer.
