Welcome Smokies gateway community partners and businesses!


Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Smokies Life are excited to launch the Gateway Stewards initiative. This program aims to support gateway community businesses and partners that serve guests that also visit and recreate in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The core of the program is a free, 45-minute ranger-led, virtual training opportunity for the frontline workers of hospitality businesses in our gateway communities. Participants will learn key Smokies logistics that will help your guests have a more enjoyable and safe visit to the park, in a way that protects our shared treasure. The session includes insider tips on alternatives to super-busy hikes and drives, and the opportunity to ask direct questions of a park ranger that your guests are always asking you.
