WEST GLACIER, MT. -The park entrance fee will be waived for entry into Glacier National Park on Saturday, September 24 in recognition of Public Lands Day. Glacier National Park Superintendent Chas Cartwright said, "This fee-free day is an excellent opportunity to visit the park and the great outdoors during the fall season."

Visitors are reminded to come prepared for changing weather conditions by layering clothing and having the appropriate footwear for planned activities. The park is home to black and grizzly bears and visitors should always be "bear aware." Outdoor enthusiasts should always communicate activity plans and time of return to someone.

To allow accelerated fall season rehabilitation on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, the last day to access Logan Pass by vehicle from the west side will be Sunday, September 18. Vehicle traffic will be restricted on the west side at Avalanche Creek beginning Monday, September 19. Vehicle access to Logan Pass will be available from the east side of the park through Sunday, October 16, weather permitting.

Fees being waived for National Public Lands Day include the park entrance only. All other fees associated with camping, lodging, or activities within the park are not waived. The fee waiver is good for Saturday, September 24 only.
