WEST GLACIER, MT. -- The Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center at Glacier National Park is hosting a brown-bag lecture on Wednesday, September 7, 12-1 p.m. at the Community Building in West Glacier. The public is invited to join Blake Passmore as he speaks about his recently published book, Climb Glacier National Park.

Passmore, a long-time mountaineer who discovered his passion for writing about his climbing experiences, has recently published Climb Glacier National Park. This is an illustrated guide to beginning and intermediate climbing routes in the park, specifically in the Logan Pass, Garden Wall and Siyeh Bend areas. Passmore anticipates releasing an additional volume in the near future.

Passmore is a frequent contributor for an on-line climbing community and has written more than 20 articles about his activities. He is a member of the Glacier Mountaineering Society. His favorite peaks include The Dragon's Tail, Never Laughs Mountain, Chief Mountain, Heaven's Peak, and Mount Jackson.

Dr. John VanArendonk, a contributing writer for the book, will accompany Passmore for the brown-bag lecture. Following the presentation, Passmore will be available at Glacier Association, located in the historic West Glacier Depot Building, for questions and answers, and book signings.

Additional brown-bag lectures will be scheduled throughout the fall and winter. For more information, please visit https://www.nps.gov/glac/naturescience/ccrlc.htm or contact 888-5827.
