What is cuter than a bug’s ear, builds haystacks, lives in the high country of Glacier National Park and may be an indicator of climate change in mountain environments? That would be the American Pika.
Lucas Moyer-Horner will provide a presentation on the status of the American Pika in Glacier National Park on Tuesday, July 28, from 12 - 12:45 pm at the West Glacier Community Building. Moyer-Horner is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Since 2007, Lucas and his crew have been identifying Pika habitat and recording Pika presence to evaluate their overall status throughout Glacier National Park.
These “Brown Bag” lectures are made available by Glacier National Park’s Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center: https://www.nps.gov/glac/naturescience/ccrlc.htm
