News Release Date: June 28, 2007 WEST GLACIER, MONT. – Glacier National Park officials report that an 18-year old male was seriously injured today after falling an estimated 40 feet from a construction zone east of the East Tunnel on the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The victim’s identity is being withheld so that his family can be notified. The incident was reported to the Park’s Dispatch Center at 11:54 a.m. Responding park rangers stabilized the victim and raised him in a litter to the road. He was then transported by ALERT helicopter to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The incident is under investigation. Addition details, when available, will be provided. |
