WEST GLACIER, MONT. – Glacier National Park has extended the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) Avalanche Hazard Reduction by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) in Glacier National Park and Flathead National Forest, Montana until January 29, 2007. This extension was granted in response to a request from BNSF. A limited number of copies of the DEIS are still available upon request from the park. They can be requested by calling 406-888-7902 or writing the address below. The DEIS can also be found on-line at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?parkId=61&projectId=12355.
