Contact: Melissa Wilson, 406 888-7895 Contact: Jan Knox, 406 888-7908 WEST GLACIER, MONT. – The National Park Service will continue (or extend) five park concession contracts in Glacier National Park. Although concession contracts with these five park concessioners had been due to expire on Dec. 31, 2005, the agreements will now continue through 2006. The concessioners include: Glacier Guides, Inc. which provides guided hiking and backpacking; Sun Tours which operates interpretive motor vehicle tours highlighting Blackfeet culture and history; Mule Shoe Outfitters which offers guided horseback trail rides and pack animal services; Glacier Park Boat Company which runs boat tours and offers small boat rentals; and Glacier Park Inc., which is the primary concession offering lodging, food services, retail, tours and transportation. A prospectus is currently available for the contract to provide guided horseback trail rides and pack animal services beginning Jan. 1, 2007. Prospectuses for the other contracts are being developed. Notices of availability will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site (http://www.fbo.gov/) when each prospectus has been published, most likely fall 2006. |
