WEST GLACIER, MONT. – The Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center at Glacier National Park is hosting a brown-bag luncheon on Thursday, August 21 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the park’s community building in West Glacier. Marc Ankenbauer will share information about his accomplishment to jump in every named lake in Glacier National Park. The program is free and open to the public.

Glacier National Park contains 131 named lakes. Although some named lakes are very easy to access, many are located in remote portions of Glacier National Park. Ankenbauer has jumped into a total of 168 lakes. This number includes 38 lakes in Waterton National Park, Park Canada. After over a decade of lake jumping in Glacier, Ankenbauer completed his project on September 8, 2013.

The Glacier National Park Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center hosts brown-bag lectures throughout the year. Please visit http://www.crownscience.org/getinvolved/outreach/brownbag for more information.
