Glacier National Park and the Glacier Institute are accepting applications for their second climate change teacher workshop to be held June 24-27 at the park. Middle and high school teachers from across the country are encouraged to apply. Teachers selected for the science and field-based workshop will spend time in the park with agency researchers and educators discussing climate change impacts on park resources. The four-day workshop will be based at the Glacier Institute's Field Camp in West Glacier. Teachers will learn about climate change and the complexity of the issue, and how to incorporate it into classroom curriculum. Room and board will be provided free of charge during the workshop and participants who complete the workshop may receive a stipend to defray their travel/transportation and material costs. Participation is limited to 20 teachers. To apply, and learn more about the workshop, visit the Glacier Institute's website at http://www.glacierinstitute.org/workshop/ or call 406-755-1211. On-line applications must be completed by close of business on Friday, March 22. |
