FREDERICKSBURG, VA –  Interior spaces including the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center, Chatham Manor, and the Jackson Death Site are scheduled to reopen to visitors at Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park. The Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center will remain closed until construction on the building is finished. Park grounds have remained open from sunrise to sunset during the pandemic and will continue to be open, providing opportunities for reflection, recreation, and respite for all visitors.

  • As of Saturday, July 17, the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center and Jackson Death Site will be fully open to visitors.

  • On Saturday, July 24 the interior of Chatham Manor will reopen to the public.

These buildings will be open 9am-5pm. These openings include all exhibits and auditoriums. At Chancellorsville the 22-minute park film plays every 30 minutes and at Chatham the 10-minute park film plays on demand.

Though the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center will remain closed until building construction is complete, park staff are onsite at an orientation table outside (when weather permits) and inside the adjacent Park Store.

Consistent with CDC recommendations, people who are not yet fully vaccinated must continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces. Individuals looking to get COVID-19 vaccine can visit vaccines.gov or text their zip code to 438829 to find a location close to them and make an appointment.
