Following guidance from the CDC, recommendations from public health authorities, and in consultation with NPS Public Health Service Officers, public buildings at Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park will temporarily close effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, in response to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The duration of the closure is uncertain. Scheduled public programs are cancelled through at least June 10. Park grounds and trails remain open sunrise to sunset. Fredericksburg, Virginia- Spring hours of operations for all public buildings of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park go into effect on Monday, April 13, 2020.
The hours will be as follows:
- Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center: daily, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center: daily, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Chatham Manor: daily, 9:00 a.m - 4:30 p.m.
- "Stonewall" Jackson Death Site: Friday through Tuesday (closed Wednesday-Thursday), 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Wilderness Exhibit Shelter: staffed weekends and Memorial Day, 9:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Spotsylvania Court House Exhibit Shelter: staffed weekends and Memorial Day, 9: 00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Ellwood Manor: staffed weekends, the week of April 13-17 (for the week after Easter and the traditional spring break) and Memorial Day, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The following walking tours will take place on most weekends and the Memorial Day holiday.

Sunken Road Walking Tour:
Weekends and Memorial Day at 11:25, 1:25, 2:25 & 3:25
35 minutes, meets at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center
Jackson Wounding Walking Tour:
Weekends and Memorial Day at 11:25, 1:25, 2:25 & 3:25
35 minutes, meets at the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center
Opening Shots in Saunders Field Walking Tour
Weekends and Memorial Day at 11:30 & 2:30
45 minutes, meets at the Wilderness Exhibit Shelter
Bloody Angle Walking Tour
Weekends and Memorial Day at 1:00 & 4:00
45 minutes, meets at the Bloody Angle, tour stop # 3 on the Spotsylvania Battlefield
This schedule is anticipated to remain in effect through Friday, June 5, after which the full summer program will take effect.
