The Fort Vancouver Visitor Center is a wonderful place to begin any visit to Fort Vancouver National Historic Site! Watch a short film about the history of the site over time, see exhibits that explain the story of this place and highlight local artists, shop at the Friends of Fort Vancouver Bookstore, and more!
The Visitor Center also serves as a visitor center for Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Obtain permits, buy public lands passes, and learn about exploring our local national forest here!
Visiting the Visitor Center
The Fort Vancouver Visitor Center is located at 1501 E Evergreen Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661. For current operating hours, visit our Operating Hours & Seasons page. It is always free to visit.
After a closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Visitor Center reopened on October 23, 2020. For more information about visiting the Visitor Center during the pandemic, click here.
The Visitor Center is located near an outdoor children's playground, the Visitor Center Annex, and outdoor picnic areas.
The Visitor Center is also located across the street from Officers' Row, a historic row of homes once occupied by officers from Vancouver Barracks and now managed by the City of Vancouver and The Historic Trust. Officers' Row includes the Marshall House and the Eatery at the Grant House.
