Fort McHenry was long active after the War of 1812. Although it saw heightened activity during the American Civil War and the First World War, as an active installation there were flurries of activity and constant activity for well over 100 years. Whether during the Mexican American War, the Spanish American War, or even with its reactivation in World War II, something was always happening at Fort McHenry.
