National Parks update their status following Tropical Storm Eta

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Following the passing of Tropical Storm Eta, Biscayne National Park will reopen on Nov. 10 at 9 a.m., and the Biscayne National Park Institute will resume operations. 

Also on Nov. 10, Everglades National Park will reopen the Homestead entrance at 8 a.m. The Shark Valley entrance remains temporarily closed because of flooding. Wilderness (backcountry) campsites are open and permits are available at the Flamingo and Gulf Coast Visitor Centers. For concession tours and services, visitors should call or check individual websites for more information. 

Dry Tortugas National Park remains closed. Vessels may seek safe harbor within the one nautical mile anchoring zone around Garden Key, including Bird Key Harbor. No services are available and Garden and Loggerhead Keys are closed, including the campground, main dock and visitor courtesy slips on Garden Key and the main dock at Loggerhead Key. 

Marine waters in all three parks continue to be open.
