Everglades National Park is pleased to announce the launch of two new on-line offerings. "We have enhanced our internet capabilities and are expanding outreach to our visitors and the general public through two new features on our website", announced Superintendent Dan Kimball. Both a downloadable audio tour and a live newsfeed are now available to the public.

The Everglades By Car Audio Tour offers visitors a guided, self-paced excursion to some of the park’s most popular destinations. The hour-long tour takes listeners from the main entrance to some of the park’s farthest reaches. The narrated experience is comprised of thirteen tracks that can be enjoyed from the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle. "For some visitors, it’s a great alternative for seeing the park during our hot, buggy summers", said park ranger Larry Perez. The tour is available for download free of charge from the park’s website, or can be accessed through iTunes.

Everglades National Park has also unveiled a new tool for those looking to keep up with park developments. Visitors to the website can now subscribe to the park’s free news feed. News feeds (also known as RSS feeds) are services that deliver content directly to a subscriber’s desktop. "The Everglades news feed gives people the chance to have timely, up-to-date park information delivered directly to them through the Internet", reports Perez.

Both features, and additional information on their use, can be found here.
