Permits & Reservations

Film Permits

Commercial film and production companies that plan to film on park grounds are required to obtain a film permit. Permits are also required when:

  • filming will take place requiring special access to buildings and sites
  • filming in areas not open to the general public
  • filming outside of the regular posted park hours
  • when props or special effects are needed
Permits are issued on an individual basis and there is a $100.00 non-refundable application processing fee per permit. The cost of location and monitoring fees depend on the size and complexity of the project. For further information, email Pam Neil or visit the NPS Commercial Filming and Still Photography Permits page.

Note: the application fee is non-refundable and reimburses the park for expenses associated with processing the application.

We require 30 days prior to your proposed event or filming to process permit applications.

Individuals with a private camera for home use are not required to have a film permit.
