Picnics, Watermelon and a Parade: Old Fashioned Independence Day at Millbrook Village Set for June 27

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Superintendent John J. Donahue announces that the annual Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration at Millbrook Village will take place on Saturday, June 27 from 10 am to 3 pm.

Donahue encourages everyone to pack a picnic lunch and join costumed park rangers and volunteers for a day full of old fashioned summer fun in a nineteenth-century village setting. Workshops, historic homes, and other buildings will be open for tours and period crafts and trades demonstrations will be offered. Visitors can participate in the in the annual village parade and watermelon-eating contest. Admission is free and the event will be held rain or shine.

Millbrook is located on the Old Mine Road, in Hardwick Township,NJ, 12 miles north of Interstate 80 (Exit 1). Access is also available bytaking NJ Route 602, the Millbrook-Blairstown Road, seven miles west from its intersection with Route 94 in Blairstown, NJ.
