BUSHKILL PA: Superintendent John J. Donahue announced that park rangers at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area will be undertaking a targeted enforcement operation to reduce the number of impaired drivers on park roads over the upcoming weekend. "The use of sobriety checkpoints is an effective method for removing impaired drivers from our roads and make them safer for park visitors, employees, local residents, and commuters," said Donahue. While vehicles are stopped at checkpoints, rangers will make every effort to ensure stops will be brief to minimize any inconvenience. If alcohol or drug use is detected, rangers can arrest the driver on a charge of operating under the influence. |
