2019 Youth Conservation Corps (YCC)

YCC crew members on Cumberland Island will work on a variety of projects that will help conserve and protect island resources as well as improve the experience and understanding for visitors to the National Seashore. Potential projects for the summer include cultural landscape restoration, trail maintenance and bridge construction, wilderness restoration, curatorial assistance, and natural resource conservation. The program also includes an educational component where participants will be introduced to the island’s rich history and fantastic natural environment.

All positions for 2019 have been filled.

 

More about the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC)

The YCC is a nationwide summer youth employment program that engages young people in meaningful work experiences at national parks while developing an ethic of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility. The objectives of the program are to accomplish needed conservation work on public lands and to develop an understanding and appreciation of the Nation's natural environment and heritage in participating youths.
