Sulphur, Okla.– Road construction will begin in late May at Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Multiple areas will be worked on throughout the summer, starting with the Cedar Blue entrance area.
Several of the access roads to the Lake of the Arbuckles and its campgrounds will be undergoing renovation, including:

Cedar Blue Entrance

Buckhorn Entrance Road

Buckhorn Boat Launch

The Point Road
-
The Point Campground
Improvements will include reconstruction of asphalt roads and pavement marking, adjusting manhole covers and utility access boxes, reconstruction of existing concrete curbs and gutters, and making modifications to traffic signs.
Most of the work will occur Monday through Friday during daylight hours. Message signs and traffic control will be in place. Visitors should expect delays and possible detours. Check the park’s current conditions webpage and social media accounts for up-to-date information on areas affected. The project is expected to last till December.
