Sulphur, Okla.– On Saturday June 5, 2021 ten kids and seven adults enjoyed fishing at Chickasaw National Recreation Area as part of the park’s first fishing program of the summer. These free programs are planned for select Saturdays throughout the summer, weather permitting. Attendance is limited to twenty participants at each event. Program attendance is reserved by appointment.
At each program, Park Rangers will provide fishing rods rigged and ready to fish. Participants will learn about safety, fish identification, fish cleaning and cooking, and general information about all things fishing. The programs are targeted towards families, but anyone interested in learning about fishing is encouraged to participate. Fishing licenses are not necessary to participate in the programs. To find out more information or to sign up participants, please call the Travertine Nature Center at 580-622-7234.
