Sulphur, Okla.– Chickasaw National Recreation Area’s annual Historic Candlelight Tour, originally planned for October, is now scheduled to happen on December 4th and 5th. In order to allow for a safer experience during a pandemic, this year’s tour will be self-guided and will not feature actors.
Visitors are asked to allow themselves at least a half hour to walk along candlelit paths of Flower Park to see displays of moments from the park’s history. These scenes, which will be illuminated from 6pm to 9pm both nights, give visitors an enjoyable opportunity to learn more about how the park came to be the place they know today.
Parking is available at Vendome Well, with overflow parking available at Lincoln Bridge, Pavilion Springs, and Hillside Springs.
