All-Terrain Wheelchairs

Capitol Reef National Park is now offering two Extreme Motus all-terrain chairs for visitor use, giving more people access to the park's trails and scenic areas.

The park has two all-terrain wheelchairs available at the Capitol Reef Visitor Center to enable visitors with mobility challenges and disabilities to enjoy more of the park's trails.

The all-terrain wheelchair requires an assistant to push the chair; it is not able to be powered by the user. The chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis; they cannot be reserved.

Checking Out the Chairs

Come to the Visitor Center information desk and if the chairs are available, a ranger will begin the checkout process. Both user and assistant must fill out a waiver prior to use. Either the chair user OR the assistant must present an ID and proof of insurance. The ranger will then go through a brief training on how to use the chair and review the chair features checklist with both the user and the assistant.

You must use your own vehicle to transport to and from trails. Please do not leave the chair unattended.

The chairs are available for single day rentals only and must be returned before the Visitor Center closes on the same day of checkout. For Visitor Center operating hours, please visit our Operating Hours and Seasons page.
