Capitol Reef National Park will host a Youth Art Event, co-sponsored by Entrada Institute, at Ripple Rock Nature Center on Saturday June 8, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
There will be a youth painting class for children to create artwork inspired by the natural settings of Capitol Reef National Park. The event is free and open to the public. Art instructor Susan Jarvis will lead the event, with the support of Utah Watercolor Society instructors. Art materials will be supplied for the first thirty participants. This youth event is part of the weekend “Arts and the Park – Light on the Reef” event that will occur around Capitol Reef and in the neighboring community of Torrey, Utah. These events are possible with assistance thanks to many community supporters.
From Tuesday June 4, in the afternoon, through Saturday June 8, in the morning, statewide watercolor artists will be located throughout the park painting their impressions of the scenery. Visitors are welcome to visit with the artists.
