Basic Information

During Covid impacted operations, the grounds (including all trails) at Camp Nelson National Monument are open from sunrise to sunset, seven days per week. Buildings, including the Visitor Center, the Perry "White" House, and the Barracks Building are not open. Once operations and serivices can be expanded that will be updated on this website. Further questions about operations should be emailed to ernie_price@nps.gov.

Please note that passport stamps containing the month and year (you write in the date) are available in a box located on the front of the visitor center. 

Entrance Fees:

During COVID impacted operations the Visitor Center is closed. When that changes it will be updated on this website. If you are planning a visit post-COVID, the Visitor Center will then be open seven days per week (except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years) and contains a museum and a 10-minute film about Camp Nelson's role during the American Civil War.
