Canaveral National Seashore Prepares for Hurricane Isaias

Canaveral National Seashore will close the park and beaches within the boundary beginning Saturday, August 1st, in preparation for hurricane Isaias. With the safety of employees and visitors being NPS’ top priority, this includes Apollo Beach, Playalinda Beach and Seminole Rest. Please observe all closures and do not enter through closed gates, once the seashore is closed there will be limited emergency services available. The seashore will be assessed by an Incident Command Team before it is reopened to the public after the storm has passed. Notice of operation changes will be posted on Facebook, Instagram and our webpage.

Some national parks that may be impacted by Isaias are already closed or have reduced operations
due to COVID-19. Parks along the coast of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina are
implementing their severe weather plans and preparing for possible impacts this weekend.
