Where can I purchase an annual pass?
There are two locations to purchase an annual pass. One is at Apollo Beach and the other is at Playalinda Beach. At these locations ask the ranger at the entrance station to purchase a pass.

What should I do if I find hazardous waste on the beach?
Don't touch it, make a note of the specific location, then report your sighting to a ranger.

Are JetSkis allowed at Canaveral National Seashore?
Personal Watercraft (PWC) are prohibited on all waters under the legislative jurisdiction of Canaveral National Seashore.

What restrictions are there on seaplane operations at Canaveral National Seashore?
Operating or using an aircraft on lands or waters other than at locations designated pursuant to special regulations is prohibited. 36CFR 2.17(a)(1)

How about airboats? Are they allowed?
No. Launching or operating airboats is prohibited. 36CFR 3.6(k)

I lost my park pass. Can you look up my number and issue me a free replacement?
No. Unfortunately, you will need to purchase a new one. All park passes contain the following disclaimer on the back; "Not responsible for misplaced, lost or stolen cards."


Does Canaveral National Seashore have any RV parking spots available?
Both Apollo & Playalinda beach have a limted number of RV parking spaces available.

Do You Have Kayaks and Cannoes For Rent?
We do have canoes available for rent overnight if you are camping and for day use. You may also rent a canoe and kayaks from the Apollo Beach Visitor Center between
9 AM - 12 PM, they must be returned by 2:00 PM if you rent for day use. For more information on our canoe and kayak rentals call the Visitor Center (386) 428-3384.


Can I Ride A Horse On The Beach?
Yes, with a permit... unless turtle nesting season is underway. Effective January 8, 2016, a Special Park Use permit is required to ride horses on Canaveral National Seashore. Make reservations by calling (386) 428-3384. Morning & afternoon reservations are available. Space is limited to 6 horses and 2 trailers. The permit fee is $75.00. A valid Coggins certificate for each horse must be presented upon arrival.

Can we feed the wildlife?
No. Feeding of wildlife, including birds and animals, is strictly prohibited. Keep the "wild" in wildlife. If you feed them they may become ill from human food or become a nuisance and aggressive.

What is the Backcountry, and Is It Okay to Hike Out There?
Klondike Beach is designated as the backcountry area of Canaveral National Seashore. Visitors wishing to hike in the backcountry must have a Backcountry Hiking Permit. To obtain a permit, speak with the ranger on duty at the Apollo Beach or the Playalinda Beach entrance station.

Are Wedding Ceremonies Allowed In The Park?
Yes, on a limited basis. A special use permit is required.

My Wedding Permit was approved. Can I pay the entrance fees in advance for people I've invited to attend?
Advance payments for guests has proven to be problematic, resulting in refunds or additional charges, due to frequent variations between estimated participants versus actual. You may designate a wedding participant to be at the gate to pay for persons individually.

I own a metal detector. Can I bring it to the park to search for coins in the sand?
No. The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 36) prohibits "possessing or using a mineral detector, magnetometer, side scan sonar, other metal detecting device, or subbottom profiler." [Section 2.1(7)]


I need to get a Florida Fishing License. Can I buy one at Canaveral National Seashore?
No. We are a Federal Agency. Florida fishing licenses are issued by the State of Florida at www.MyFWC.com/license/recreational/ .

I Use A Wheelchair. Are There Handicap-Accessible Ramps At The Seashore I Can Use To Get Out To The Beach From The Parking Lot?
Handicap ramps between the parking area and beach are located at parking lots 1 and 5 in the Apollo Beach District and parking lots 2,3,8,10,11,12 in the Playalinda Beach District. Please check with the park rangers regarding opening status of parking lots.

Are There Any Bike Trails At Canaveral?
There are no bike trails, only the paved roadways.

Are Dogs Allowed On The Beach?
No.

Can I Ride My Powered Skateboard, Moped Or Motorized Scooter In The Park?
To operate any motorized vehicle within the seashore or the adjacent refuge, it must be registered, licensed and insured, just like a car or motorcycle.

Can I Drive My Car On The Beach?
Only authorized government and emergency vehicles may be driven on the beach.

Do You Allow Snorkeling At The Beach?
Yes.

How Do I Make Island Camping Reservations?
Effective January 8, 2016, visitors may reserve one of the 14 backcountry island campsites in Mosquito Lagoon by using the national reservation booking service, www.recreation.gov. Reservations may be made up to six months in advance and paid for at the time of reservation. Backcountry beach camping is no longer allowed.

When & Where Do I Call To Make Turtle Watch Reservations?
Reservations for June programs are taken May 15th. Reservations for July programs are taken June 15th. The number to call is (386) 428-3384.

I Have A Concealed Weapons Permit. Can I Bring My Firearm With Me To The Park?
Yes, although certain restrictions apply. The law regarding weapons in national parks was revised Feb 21, 2010 (learn more).

Are Alcoholic Beverages Allowed On The Beach?
Yes, but glass containers are prohibited. You must be at least 21 to consume alcohol.
