All National Park Service Visitor Centers within the Outer Banks Group will be closed for the Christmas Holiday on Monday, December 25, 2006. This includes Visitor Centers at Wright Brothers National Memorial, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Cape Hatteras National Seashore, including the Bodie Island Visitor Center, the Hatteras Island Visitor Center and the Ocracoke Island Visitor Center. The NPS Visitor Centers will reopen on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, and will remain open through the remainder of the holiday season. Winter seasonal hours are 9: a.m. to 5 p.m. The Whalebone Junction Information Center will also close on Monday, December 25, reopens on Tuesday, December 26. The Information Center closes for the winter season after December 31, 2006 and reopens March 1, 2007. Superintendent Mike Murray stated "My staff and I wish all a very happy and safe holiday season." |
