Cape Hatteras National Seashore (Seashore) has reopened the Oregon Inlet Campground following its closure for the coastal storm. The Frisco and Cape Point Campgrounds currently remain closed.

Additional details:

  • North Carolina Highway 12 is closed between the Marc Basnight Bridge and the north end of Rodanthe. As of this evening, the North Carolina Department of Transportation expects the road to reopen Wednesday, November 20 by 3 p.m. For road condition updates, visit: www.drivenc.gov.

  • Visitors should use caution if driving on off-road vehicle routes as many routes are impassable due to elevated surf conditions.

  • Seashore visitor centers on Bodie and Hatteras Islands, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, and Wright Brothers National Memorial are open.

  • Ocracoke Campground remains closed post-Hurricane Dorian.
