During winter 2019, Seashore staff will complete installation of electricity and water at another 24 sites for a total of 47 sites that will provide water and electric services.
Superintendent David Hallac said “These amenities help to meet the desires of today’s park visitors and provide a quieter camping experience for RV and tent campers by reducing campground noise that is present when generators are used. Our staff has made excellent progress on this project.”
The Seashore also operates the Cape Point, Frisco, and Ocracoke campgrounds. All campgrounds accommodate tents, trailers, and motorhomes up to 35 feet. Each campground also provides rest rooms, potable water, showers, grills, and picnic tables. Utility connections are currently only available at Oregon Inlet Campground.
Reservations for any of the four campgrounds can be made by calling 1-877-444-6777, or on the Internet at www.recreation.gov, and can be made up to six months in advance.
