At 7:05 am this morning, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, the body of an unidentified male was discovered by Cape Hatteras National Seashore staff near Buxton, North Carolina.

The body was found roughly a mile and a half north of the jetties in Buxton where a teenage male swimmer was last seen on the evening of Saturday, September 9. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow in order to determine identity.
