No entrance pass required
An entrance pass is not required to access Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money. 2025 Free Entrance Days in the National ParksCome experience the national parks! NO ENTRANCE FEEThere is NO FEE to visit Canyon de Chelly National Monument! Feel free to visit the overlooks on your own. National Parks with an entrance fee will accept the official America the Beautiful pass. National Parks across the country also offer free entrance days during the year.
OTHER FEES MAY APPLYBACKCOUNTRY PERMITS & COTTONWOOD CAMPGROUND: The Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation (NNPR) issues backcountry permits and manages the Cottonwood Campground. The NNPR office at entrance of the campground collects fees for backcountry permits and camping. Call 928-674-2106 for more information. WHITE HOUSE OVERLOOK AND TRAIL: In 2025, the area may require a fee and be open seasonally. Daily operations will be provided by Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation (NNPR). Call 928-674-2106 for more information. SPECIAL USE PERMITS: Special events such as weddings, large/organized group events, and commercial filming or photography require a Special Use Permit that may include fees, liability insurance, security bond and even compliance clearance.
