WHO:  Superintendent Andrea Compton invites everyone to celebrate National Park Week, and Junior Ranger Day at Cabrillo National Monument!

WHAT:  National Park Week is an annual week for celebration and recognition of Your National Parks! This year’s theme is “Parks 101.” From diverse wildlife and iconic landscapes to vibrant culture and rich history, our National Park System has something for everyone. Cabrillo National Monument invites San Diego locals and visitors to learn more about Cabrillo and how they can get involved with their National Park. Visitors will be granted free admission April 15, 16, 22 & 23.

AND:   Junior Ranger Day will take place on Saturday April 15. Just ask for a free Junior Ranger program at the Visitor Center, where upon completion of the program, new Jr. Rangers will be awarded a special Jr. Ranger National Park Week Badge.

Open Tower Day will take place on Wednesday April 19. Visitors will be able to climb the 31 stairs to the top and take in the spectacular views. As space in the historic lighthouse is limited, groups of 10 at a time are guided to the top (visitors must meet a  minimum height requirement to visit the top platform). To protect the lens, no bags will be permitted. Storage will be offered at no charge to the public. This event is weather permitting.
