Ranger-Led Programs

Consider connecting your students to the ultimate classroom with one of our Ranger-led field trip programs. In this section, you will find several options and planning resources to maximize your park excursion.

If you sign up for a field trip, please make sure to check your spam folder for confirmation emails.

Reservations are now open for in-person and virtual programming.

We will reassess the safety of in-person programming on a month by month basis. In-person programming is subject to cancelation at any time if conditions are deemed unsafe.

All participants of in-person programming must wear a mask at all times when with a park ranger regardless of vaccination status.

Historical field trips will be available on a virtual platform from September 1st - December 17 and January 7 - June 14th. Scheduling is done on a first-come first-served basis.

Historical programs are available Monday - Thursday, with two program time slots per day: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM.

Self Guided Trips

If you would like to have your educational groups out to Cabrillo without participating in our Ranger-led programs, we would love to have you! Reservations are not required for self-guided trips, however educational groups might be eligible for a park fee waiver.

Tidepool Permit May Be Required

In order to protect this distinct and delicate ecosystem, Tidepool Permits are required for groups of ten or more to visit the tidepools at Cabrillo National Monument during low tides of 0.7' and lower. If your group numbers less than ten, no permit is required.
