Explore the wonders of Biscayne National Park’s natural and cultural history through a 3-hour ranger-guided boat trip on Biscayne Bay. The guided tour departs at 10:00 a.m. daily from Homestead and travels through the shallow waters of south Biscayne Bay, past historic islands and, weather permitting, out to several sites on the world’s third-largest living coral reef.
Park Superintendent, Mark Lewis, notes “The population of the communities adjacent to Biscayne National Park has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years. Many of these new residents do not realize that the majority of Biscayne Bay is within Biscayne National Park.” He continues, “National parks are superior recreational destinations where park neighbors and visitors can learn about nature and history, find inspiration, and improve their health and wellness while enjoying themselves.”
Biscayne National Park and its concessioner would like to invite local families to experience their national park by offering a “Dads Ride Free” special on Father’s Day. On Sunday, June 15, 2008, all fathers will ride free when accompanied by a paying child. The ticket price for children 12 years of age and younger is $16.45, excluding any taxes and fuel surcharges. Taking advantage of this discounted boat tour results in a savings of $24.45, the regular price of an adult ticket.
