The Boquillas Port of Entry within Big Bend National Park, providing access to the town of Boquillas, Coahuila, Mexico, as well as the protected areas of Maderas del Carmen, Ocampo, and Cañon de Santa Elena, will change hours of operation beginning May 13, 2018.
Pedestrians will be able to access the port between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Friday through Monday. This is a change from the current days of operation, which are Wednesday through Sunday. This change in days reflects visitation patterns, which are reduced during the extreme heat of the summer.
Visitors can cross by foot or by rowboat (for a fee). This crossing does not accommodate vehicle crossing or commercial importation of products. Passports, passport cards, or other official travel documentationis required.
The Boquillas Port of Entry is staffed by National Park Service rangers who can assist travelers with information about visiting the area.
