Going-to-the-Sun Road Plowing Information

The Going-to-the-Sun Road is closed between Lake McDonald Lodge and Rising Sun until plowing the upper sections is complete.

West Side Activity
West Side crews are continuing to prepare the road for summer visitors and plowing around the Logan Pass Visitor Center.

Visitors may drive to Avalanche Creek. On the West Side, hiker/biker access is to The Loop while the road crew working, approximately 8 miles past the vehicle closure. When road crew is not working there is a hard hiker/biker closure at Logan Pass, approximately 16 miles past the vehicle closure. The road crew typically works Monday through Friday between 7 am and 4 to 5 pm

East Side Activity
East Side crews are continuing to prepare the road for summer visitors and plowing around the Logan Pass Visitor Center.

Visitors may drive to Jackson Glacier Overlook. Hikers and bikers may use the road to No Stump Point, just beyond Siyeh Bend. Bicyclists should beware of icy road conditions.
